Which operating systems are supported by Genio 360?
Genio 360 is officially supported with Android from MediaTek, which is available now. Support for Yocto is scheduled for 2026 Q3, and Ubuntu is scheduled for 2026 Q4. Please note that there is currently no plan to support AOSP on this platform.
How is Genio 360 positioned relative to Genio 350?
Genio 360 is the next-generation value-tier platform succeeding Genio 350. It upgrades the manufacturing process from 14nm to 6nm for better power efficiency and introduces "Big Core" (Cortex-A76) performance to the value tier. It also features significant enhancements in NPU performance (GenAI capable), display capabilities (up to 4K60), and richer I/O interfaces compared to Genio 350.
What performance improvements does Genio 360 offer compared to Genio 350?
Genio 360 delivers up to 3x higher CPU single-core performance and up to 2x higher CPU multi-core performance versus Genio 350. For graphics, Genio 360 provides up to 2x higher GPU performance versus Genio 350.
What is the difference between Genio 360 and Genio 360P?
The Genio 360 family consists of two variants to suit different performance needs.
- Genio 360 (MT8366): The mainstream option, featuring a hexa-core CPU (1x Cortex-A76 + 5x Cortex-A55) and an NPU with 5.1 TOPS.
- Genio 360P (MT8367): A higher-performance variant featuring an octa-core CPU (2x Cortex-A76 + 6x Cortex-A55) and an NPU with 7.4 TOPS.
Both share the same pinout and general feature set, but the 360P offers additional computing headroom for demanding applications.
Does Genio 360 support LPDDR5 memory?
No. Genio 360 supports 32-bit LPDDR4X memory. It does not support LPDDR5(X).
Does Genio 360 support CAN-bus interfaces?
Yes. Genio 360 includes native support for CAN-FD, which is commonly used in industrial control, robotics, in-vehicle, and factory automation use cases.
What is the AI performance of Genio 360?
Genio 360 integrates an 8th generation MediaTek NPU. The standard Genio 360 delivers 5.1 TOPS, while the Genio 360P delivers 7.4 TOPS. This allows for effective on-device edge AI and basic GenAI (<2B models) acceleration in value-tier devices.
Does Genio 360 support industrial temperature operation?
Yes. Genio 360 is available in both consumer and industrial temperature grades.
- Consumer temperature: -20°C to 95°C (Tj)
- Industrial temperature: -40°C to 105°C (Tj)
What are the display capabilities of Genio 360?
Genio 360 supports dual displays. It can drive a single display up to 4K@60Hz (via eDP or DP) or dual displays at FHD@60Hz + FHD@60Hz. This is a significant upgrade from the FHD limits of Genio 350.
Is Genio 360 pin-compatible with Genio 350?
No. Genio 360 uses a different package size (12.2 x 13.4 mm) compared to Genio 350 (12.2 x 11.8 mm) and is not pin-to-pin compatible. It requires a new board design.
Does Genio 360 have integrated Wi-Fi/Bluetooth?
Yes. Genio 360 has an integrated wireless baseband that supports Wi-Fi 5 (1x1) and Bluetooth 5.3 when paired with the MT6631 companion RF chip. This provides a cost-effective connectivity solution, though external modules can be used via PCIe or USB for higher performance requirements (e.g., Wi-Fi 6).
Does Genio 360 support RSA3072 and RSA4096 secure boot?
Yes. The Genio 360 Boot ROM (Root of Trust) supports both RSA3072 and RSA4096 for secure boot. Please confirm the support status with your specific OS version.
Are all hardware features of Genio 360 supported under every OS?
